Hello doston, When I was invited by Nand Kishore Chaudhry from Jaipur Rugs to come to Jaipur, I just surrendered to the idea. I didn’t think of the purpose, the why, the goal. My brain took a backseat. My heart took the front seat. In my first interaction with him, I was curious to know what made him reach out, and he said, ‘My intuition spoke to me’. Intuition is the intelligence we can’t validate with data. It reads signals from your body, your memory, your past history and allows us to make the right decisions. For those of you who have been following me, my storytelling journey began in Rajasthan 7 years ago. I went in search of artists and artisans who had stories to tell, but no one to tell them to. That’s a story for another day. Each of them had such a heartfelt story to tell. After travelling in the village, we went to a weaver's house, who served us lunch. Her home was humble and comfortable. We sat on the floor on a rug and had roti and tinda subzi. It was a scorching 42 degrees, no AC and it was one of the most luxurious experiences of my life. It is that time when status, wealth, pedigree, and intelligence take a backseat and humility, love, grace and belonging take the front seat. What I learnt from the artisans’ stories: They smile with their hearts. When they were speaking to me, my inner voice told me, they are such good people. They are not tainted by the world. Their inspiration is governed by simplicity Jaipur Rugs started a series called Manchaha where the weavers are invited to make designs that flow from within them. There are no design maps to follow. It transforms an artisan into an artist. They showed me this exquisite piece of work, and their inspiration was:
No hi-fi fundas. There is still place for innocence in the world An artisan’s daughter was so excited to show us two rabbits she got from a friend's home. She kept the tea saucer in front of her face because she was too shy to talk to us. I learnt something from the experience that money can’t buy. It’s love. I would LOVE to hear a story of a 'money can't buy' experience from your life. Thank you for reading this edition of the newsletter today. Until next time, keep finding your stories! Love, Vipasha Whenever you are ready, here is how I can help you: 🎯Consulting: If you don’t have the time or inclination to learn storytelling, I consult with organisations to help tell their stories. |

Hi doston, Creatives have spent decades working on their craft. The 10000 hours of labour. This is our life’s work. To develop taste, to develop discernment. Creation is what comes out by surrendering to sacred work. The work that comes from intuitive intelligence. Unfortunately, it’s too late to fight against the Gen AI beast. We can’t undo time. We can only adapt to it. Instead of thinking what AI can do, think of what it can’t do. Move your career path as a creative in the following...
